This course is designed to give a general overview of first aid to individuals so that they can manage illness/emergencies and also support First Aiders if required.

- Legal framework, & responsibilities of employers
- Priorities of First Aid and managing incidents
- Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty & shock
- Treating & controlling wounds and bleeding
- Learning Outcomes
- Basic life-saving First Aid and the relevant regulations
Assessment
Continuous assessment by the trainer
Certification
Appointed Persons certificate valid for 3 years

Abstracts:
Heart specialist Dr Christopher Duke said Sophie 'would have survived' if she had received continuous CPR. He said 'You don't stop resuscitation just because a patient appears to be breathing. You only stop if there's breathing and a pulse.'
