Introduction to Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Emergency defibrillator

When somebody suffers a heart attack their best chance of survival is early defibrillation. This is the process of giving an electrical shock to the heart so that it can start pumping blood around the body again.

This course is designed to give students the confidence and ability to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to give the casualty a higher chance of survival after a heart attack.

Emergency First Aid

This course is designed to give a general overview of first aid to individuals so that they can manage illness/emergencies and also support First Aiders if required.

First Aid at Work Refresher

This course is designed for students who already hold a First Aid at Work Certificate but would like to refresh their skills. This training is optional and is not designed to replace the 3 year certificated re-qualification course, but instead to compliment and refresh the skills learned during the original course.

First Aid at Work Re-qualification

This Health and Safety Executive approved course is designed to refresh student’s knowledge and confidence to respond quickly, effectively and safely in the event of an emergency at work. This course needs to be taken every 3 years, within the last 3 months, to keep the first aider’s First Aid at Work certificate valid.

Valid First Aid at Work Certificate. This must be produced at the start of the course.

This Health and Safety Executive approved course is designed to give the students the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly, effectively and safely in the event of a first aid emergency at work.
